B&B House of the three Marias / AL Casa das três Marias

The House of the three Marias is a lovingly restored traditional stone built farmhouse on the edge of the traditional small rural village of Salaborda Nova, in the heart of pure and rural Portugal. The B&B is named after three sisters all with Maria as their first name. They were born in this house and lived here all their lives.

We offer a personal and eco-friendly hospitality at this small B&B. A quiet sunny place, surrounded by forests, rivers and nature, with a flower filled garden and places to relax inside and outside.

There are 4 guest rooms, all with double beds and en-suite bathrooms. One room has an extra bunk bed for 2 children. There is NO TV. Pets are allowed on request for a small extra fee.

A delicious continental breakfast is included and served between 8.30 and 10.00. Ingredients changing every day and season; yogurt with fresh fruits and homemade granola, overnight oats sweetened with raw honey of our own bees, fruit juices, home made preserves (we have kiwifruit, figs, persimmon, quince and citrus trees), freshly baked breads, cakes, dutch pancakes and eggs from our own chickens.

Our location is ideal for exploring the surrounding area. From hiking, biking trails and riverbeaches to wineries and museums, there’s no shortage of activities to keep you entertained. And when you’re ready to relax, our peaceful garden and comfortable sitting areas provide the perfect backdrop for unwinding.

We are close to Estrada Nacional 2, motor/cyclist welcome

Nice to meet you

We are Peter and Lineke. On the 8th of April 2022 we started a great new adventure, together with our sweet and well trained 12 year old Belgian Malinoise dog Amber.

We moved from the Netherlands to Portugal to start a B&B. After hard work we are officially open from the 1st of June 2022.
